M-SELEN Enables Solomon Airlines Ticket Payments

Honiara, Solomon Islands – M-SELEN has partnered with Solomon Airlines to enable customers to pay for airline tickets using the M-SELEN mobile money platform. The service allows customers across the country to conveniently pay for tickets without travelling to ticket offices or carrying cash, making air travel more accessible, especially for provincial and outer island communities. To purchase a ticket, customers must first contact the Solomon Airlines ticketing office to confirm seat availability. Payment is then made via the Buy Goods & Services option on M-SELEN by dialing *123# or using the M-SELEN mobile app, after which customers must confirm receipt of payment with the ticketing office to secure their seat. Majidul Haque, Head of M-SELEN, said the partnership strengthens access to essential services through digital finance. “This initiative makes air travel payments more convenient and secure for Solomon Islanders, particularly those outside Honiara,” he said. John Wopereis, Commercial Manager of Solomon Airlines Limited, welcomed the collaboration, noting it enhances customer payment flexibility while improving internal processes. “We’re excited to announce our partnership with M-Selen! DBSI Loan Disbursement and Repayment Now Live on M-SELEN

Honiara, Solomon Islands – Customers of the Development Bank of Solomon Islands (DBSI) can now receive their loans and repay them digitally via M-SELEN, following a new partnership between DBSI and M-SELEN. The service allows DBSI customers to receive loan disbursements directly into their M-SELEN wallets and make repayments anytime, anywhere using the M-SELEN App or by dialing *123#. This removes the need for travel and in-person visits, making DBSI loan services more accessible nationwide. The partnership supports DBSI’s mandate to reach more customers, particularly in rural and underserved areas, while also enabling the Bank to receive loan repayments more efficiently and on time. “This partnership enables DBSI to deliver loan services more conveniently while making repayments simpler for customers,” said Majidul Haque, Head of M-SELEN. “Digital disbursement and repayment through M-SELEN helps improve access, efficiency, and reliability for both the Bank and its customers.” DBSI’s CEO, Mr. Aisake Radu said the integration strengthens the Bank’s service delivery and sustainability. “Through M-SELEN, DBSI can now disburse loans faster and receive repayments more reliably,” Mr. Radu said. “This improves customer experience while supporting the long-term effectiveness of our loan programmes.” The DBSI loan repayment service on M-SELEN is available nationwide with zero transaction fees. SINU Fees Payment Now Live On M-SELEN With Zero Fees

Honiara, Solomon Islands - Students, parents, and sponsors can now officially pay Solomon Islands National University (SINU) fees using M-SELEN, with the service now live and available nationwide. The new digital payment option allows SINU fees to be paid anytime, anywhere through the M-SELEN mobile app or USSD (*123#), at zero transaction cost to student. This removes the need for cash handling, long queues, or travel to payment locations, particularly benefiting students and fee payers in the provinces. With the service now active, M-SELEN enables payment for a wide range of SINU services, including: Tuition Fees, Registration Fees, Late Registration Fees, Application Form Fees, Course Material Fees, Examination and Re-sit Examination Fees, Association Fees, Gown Fees, Re-print ID Card Fees, Re-print Certificate Fees and Re-print Transcript Fees. Payments can be made directly from a mobile phone, providing a secure, reliable, and convenient alternative to traditional payment methods. Using the M-SELEN App, customers can pay SINU fees by opening the app and selecting School Fees, then choosing SINU Services. Users simply select the relevant fee type, enter the student name or ID and the payment amount, and confirm the transaction by entering their PIN. Using M-SELEN USSD, customers can dial *123#, select Payments, then School Fees, and choose SINU. After selecting the fee type, users enter the student name or ID, input the payment amount, and complete the transaction by entering their PIN. Network Upgrade Update: Rove Tower Works Underway

Our Telekom is pleased to provide a progress update on our ongoing network enhancement programme across Honiara. The first upgrade activity in this new phase has commenced at the Rove tower, where our technical team is currently installing new capacity equipment aimed at improving overall 4G/LTE performance in the area. These works are part of our continuous investment to strengthen mobile connectivity in high-usage zones. Once the upgrade is completed, customers in and around Rove can expect: Stronger and more stable connectivity Improved data speeds A more consistent experience during peak hours Our teams are working diligently to ensure these improvements are delivered efficiently and safely, with minimal impact to customers. Our Telekom Accelerates 4G/LTE Capacity Upgrade Across 10 additional Key Sites in Honiara

Our Telekom is pleased to announce the arrival of additional TDD (Time Division Duplex) equipment, marking the next phase of our continuous network improvement programme that began in 2023. Over the past two years, several high-demand 4G/LTE sites have already been successfully upgraded to TDD to increase capacity and enhance the customer experience in some of the most congested areas of the capital. The upcoming upgrades will be delivered across the following locations: Naha 2, Tandai, Papaho, Vavaya Ridge, White River, Zion, Gilbert Camp, West Kola, Rove, and Ngossi. These sites have experienced rapid growth in mobile usage, and the TDD upgrades will ensure faster data speeds, more stable connections, and a better overall digital experience for our customers. This network expansion reflects Our Telekom’s ongoing commitment to strengthening connectivity and enabling reliable access to digital services for communities and businesses.
