Solomon Telekom Company Limited (STCL) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a framework for non – exclusive cooperation. This strategic partnership aims to facilitate and strengthen collaboration, with a primary focus on providing technical support to Solomon Telekom’s M-SELEN, Mobile Money service.
The MOU sets the stage for a dynamic alliance, leveraging UNDP’s expertise in sustainable development and Solomon Telekom’s innovative Mobile Money solutions, M-SELEN. The collaboration is poised to play a pivotal role in enhancing financial inclusion, particularly for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with a special emphasis on informational enterprises and smallholder farmers.
The signing of the MOU embeds technical assistance in Telekom with the aim of refining existing financial products to serve the interest of the informal enterprises and entrepreneurship focusing on women and youth (Ms Nanise Saune-Qaloewai, Programme Manager UNDP).
UNDP Technical support is aimed to redefine our M-SELEN digital product to be a catalyst for positive change, facilitating increase access to financial service (Ms Christina Lasaqa, CEO Solomon Islands Telekom).
