Solomon Telekom Company Limited (Our Telekom) is a joint venture company between Solomon Islands National Provident Fund, (SINPF) which holds 97.32% of the shares, and the Investment Corporation of the Solomon Islands (ICSI) which owns 2.68% of the shares.

Improving the customer experience from behind the scenes
As a non-customer facing team, a challenge we often talk about is how we can improve our customers’ experience and help drive advocacy.
The beauty about our company-wide employee recognition and reward program is that recognition can be made at the grass roots level (peer-to-peer), where your manager and team can share in the celebration of your great work. Regardless of the work you do, the experience you have, and your role in the organisation, the most effective way of developing your skills is through a holistic approach to development.
70 percent of your Development should come through on-the-job experience
The most significant development comes from on-the-job-experience. Majority of development at work (about 70%) happens this way, with people's development coming from both their success, and their mistakes. That is OK. Learning on the job means breaking things sometimes, but it is about picking yourself up and growing from the experience.
20 percent of your Development should come from relationship with people around you, like your coaches and mentors
This could be through coaching, mentoring, and your networks, observing role models at work, going to management meetings, sharing best practice or participating in a community of practice. We have developed a framework to help you with the power of mentoring as part of your development.
You will also have regular development conversations with your manager; it is here that you can get the one-on-one coaching you need to succeed in your role, as well as plan for your career goals and aspirations.
10 percent should come from
Formal training including classroom or online is what people most associate with development. This type of development is valuable because it gives you the theory and concepts you will apply on-the-job. As adults we get the most from these sessions when we are given the opportunity to directly apply what we learn in the classroom to our work back in the business.
